DS200SNPAH1A is a Protocol Interface Daughter Board manufactured and designed by General Electric. The SNPA connects the DSPC board and the Series 90-30 PLC via RS-232C and isolated RS-484 serial communication. This PLC communicates via a Series Ninety Protocol (SNP) bus. The SNPA is a DSPC daughterboard that is not found in LCIs equipped with Innovation Series Controllers.
Functional description
It is used in conjunction with the DS200DSPC Digital Signal Processor Control Motherboard. The board is installed in the VMEbus rack with the SPC and the ADMA Analog-to-Digital Module.
This model's primary function is to provide isolated RS-484 and RS-232C communication between the attached DSPC board and the Series 90-30 PLC model. The control cabinet is also included with the SNPA model.
DS200SNPAH1A Features
The LCI with Innovation Series Controller differs greatly from the PLC-based LCI Controller in that it eliminates the need for it. This model will never be used with the LCIs found in the Innovation Series Controllers.
The communications bus on the board is of the Series Ninety Protocol (SNP) variety.
The SNPA daughterboard is not required by the LCI with an Innovation Series Controller, whereas the SNPA board is required by the LCI with a PLC.
On the SNPA board, there are two protocol selections: 1, which allows the Series 90 Protocol to be enabled, and 0, which disables the board.
The GEI-100226 User's Guide, which is a part-specific manual for the SNPA, is the best manual to use with this board.
