It is populated with 12 plug-in relays. This Mark V Speedtronic card also has three 16-pin connectors and two 12-pin connectors. The IDS for 12-pin connectors are JM and JN and for plug-in relays, the IDs begin with the letter K. K1, K5, and H12 are examples of IDs. A relay can be replaced if it stops working. The Speedtronic Mark V Gas turbine Control system is one of the most established derivatives of the Speedtronic Series. The Mark V system is designed to fulfill all gas turbine Control requirements.

The Mark V Speedtronic Control system has a software Implemented Fault Tolerance to increase the reliability of the turbine control system. The core parts of the Mark V control systems are Communications, Protection, Power Distribution, QD digital I/O Controls processors, and C digital I/O.
